Through the Arts We Will
Worship God, Love People, Share the Gospel, and Make Disciples of Jesus Everywhere We Go!
Hang tight while we look up scheduled events...
Paradosi serves the community through three major areas of operation:
Paradosi Ballet Company is a Christian touring ballet company that utilizes dance as a ministry tool for evangelism and leading worship. Each year Paradosi tours throughout the United States and internationally sharing the hope of Jesus through the art of dance. Paradosi partners with other ministries to share at churches, conferences, schools, fairs, festivals, retirement communities, shelters, during street ministry, and other venues.
The dancers in Paradosi are all volunteers who chose to enter full-time ministry using their gifts in dance to glorify God and to make Him known instead of using them for entertainment. The members of the ministry are also skilled dance teachers. As a part of our vision to use dance as a ministry tool to teach and reach the next generation for Jesus, the ministry teaches dance workshops and master classes while on tour.
Each year the ministry hosts an annual Summer Dance Intensive in Tacoma, Washington that draws dancers from around the world who want to continue growing as artists and in their faith. Classes are all taught by the members of the ministry, both past and present, during this fun intense week of ballet training and discipleship!
Since 2011 Paradosi has operated a fully immersive ballet ministry discipleship program. The 2-year vocational Trainee-Apprentice Program is for dancers who want to continue growing as artists while being equipped to use dance in ministry.
As a Trainee-Apprentice, dancers receive advanced ballet and ministry training taught by the ministries Directors, faculty, and through our partnership with Western Seminary. The knowledge and skills that dancers learn are put into practice as they participate in outreach events and performances throughout their time with the ministry.
Dancers who complete the trainee apprentice-program are better prepared to serve full-time in Paradosi as an Apprentice or Company Artist, teach ballet, and to serve in other areas of Christian ministry.
Since 2009 Paradosi has operated a dance school, Surrendered School of Dance, as a local outreach with campuses in Tacoma, Gig Harbor, and Orting Washington. The schools primary focus is on teaching Ballet but it does offer contemporary, pointe, Progressing Ballet Technique PBT, and other dance classes throughout the year. The school offers classes for students from the age of 3 through adult. While we are a faith-based organization, our school is open to all in the community regardless of their beliefs.
"For in Him we live, move, and have our being."
